The genesis

The Union Government had  sanctioned  IIM for Himachal Pradesh in its budget of 2014 and  Dhaulakuan near Nahan town in the Sirmaur district was selected to house this prestigious institute in August 2014. Sirmaur was selected over Kullu and Shimla because an IIM would help improve the socio-economic condition of the local people.

A site measuring 200 acre has been allotted for setting up its permanent campus and expression of Interest from architects to finalise its design and development  has already been issued.  IIM, Sirmaur, currently operates from its temporary campus at the Himachal Institute of Technology, Paonta Sahib.

Campus life

The campus   is equipped with modern facilities and latest technology, including   state-of-the art classrooms, fully equipped conference rooms with video-conferencing facility, a 24x7 library and a computer lab with latest configuration machines as well as access to various software and E-databases and resources like EBSCO, Bloomberg, Scopus, Grammerly, etc. The campus houses outdoor sports fields and playgrounds and the indoor sports facilities like the pool, TT etc.

The Admission policy of IIM Sirmaur has a component of diversity factor to  promote the  girl students. It has  introduced various scholarships for the students for the new  academic session of  2018

Student population

The institute which began its operation in 2016 has now  increased  its intake to 100 students for 2018-20 PGP batch.
