A man was allegedly kidnapped by four car-borne gangsters at gunpoint from a link road leading to Chirasmi village last night.

The victim has been identified as Mukesh (35) of Chirasmi in this district.

He, along with cousin Dharam Pal, was returning to Chirasmi in his car from Gannaur when he saw a car parked on the village link road. No sooner Mukesh stopped his car, three armed youths came out, attacked him with the pistol butt and kidnapped him in their car.

On Pal’s complaint, a case of kidnapping has been registered in the Gannaur police station against unidentified persons.

Mukesh’s family said a few days ago, there was an altercation between Mukesh and employees of a petrol pump and he had lodged a police complaint against them.

Sub-inspector Vikas Kumar said seven police teams, constituted on the direction of the Gannaur DSP, had been raiding the suspected hideouts of the accused.
