One person was arrested for printing counterfeit banknotes in Yamunanagar, police said on Monday.

Police said that they found Rs 67,550 in counterfeit money from the suspect, whom they have identified as Rubi Singh alias Ravi, from Bambholi village. Police said they also found a laptop and some other equipment he used to print the notes. The money was in denominations of Rs 500, Rs 100 and Rs 50.

Yamunagar Police Superintendent Rajesh Kalia said that Singh had a computer centre in Bilaspur town that he used to print the fake money.

“During questioning. Rubi Singh confessed that he, along with his two accomplishes Ramesh Kumar, alias Billu, of Bal Chhappar village, and Ashok Kumar, alias Shoki, of Chaharwala village, have been printing counterfeit money at the computer centre since the past 3-4 months and circulating them in Yamunanagar, Jagadhri, Dehradun and other places,” the officer said.

Police have booked all three under sections of the Indian penal Code.

Singh was produced in a court in Jagadhri on Monday and was remanded in police remand for two days. The two others will be arrested soon, police said,
