Job growth slows down

The extended slowdown in the real estate sector has affected the job growth also. According to data from job site Indeed, the real estate sector in India has seen a drop in the number of job postings by 8 per cent from May 2017 to May 2018, in the wake of the implementation of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA) 2016. This slowdown in job creation is indicative of the sector taking time to recover from the Act implemented by the Government. However, Noida is the leading region in terms of maximum jobs in the real estate sector. Indeed's data also highlights that while millennial job seekers show the least interest in the sector, an interesting observation is that real estate job opportunities are actively looked for by job seekers in the senior age bracket, i.e. in the 51-65 year old age group. — TNS
