A class tenth student Shruti Pathania was always counted among the ‘stars’ of the class. She would duly pay attention to what was being taught, revise diligently and do well in the exams. She still does well in exams, with only distinction that she is not the quiet girl following teachers’ instructions anymore, but the one raising her hand, asking questions and learning on the go! Part of the group that played a key role in the making of the film Ud Jaane Do that was shown as part of the annual day for St. Soldiers, Panchkula, Shruti felt vindicated on the film’s formal screening at Inderdhanush Auditorium on Sunday. “Right from when I gave that very long audition, to the four months that we spent in the making of the film, my peers were skeptical. Sometimes, I was bunking classes for the shoot and my classmates were like – God save you – for we are in a very crucial class 10, but today as the film is screened for everyone, I couldn’t stop smiling,” says Shruti who plays a rapper Kiaana in the film.

The film was made in association with Gurgaon- based Kompanions. The other main characters being Mallika Chhabra, Manav Sharma, Sargam Chauhan and Vishal. “The students were exposed to all the aspects of modern day filmmaking,” shared Yuvraj Sharma, director of the film. “We learnt a lot about how films are made during the making of Ud Jaane Do. We got to know about the camera angles, lighting, set design and production values,” shared Manav Sharma who thoroughly enjoyed being part of the film.

“The students were given full exposure to all the facets of filmmaking,” said Renu Diwan, principal, St Soldier’s School, Panchkula.
