Labourer electrocuted

A 32-year-old labourer working with the UT Electricity Department was electrocuted while repairing a fault at Sector 27 here. The contractor has been booked for negligence. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Rattan, who was working as a labourer with the Electricity Department on a contractual basis under the contractor, Vishal.

The victim’s brother, Deena Nath, who is also a labourer, said he, along with Rattan, was called to repair a fault in an electricity pole. When Rattan climbed the pole, he received an electric shock and fell. The complainant rushed the victim to GMSH, Sector 16, where doctors declared him brought dead.
