Mohali, January 19

After the completion of filing of nomination papers, poll fever has started intensifying in Mohali.

Today, Democratic Swaraj Party’s candidate Balwinder Singh Kumbhra started his election campaign by launching a ‘verbal’ attack on all three main contestants - SAD-BJP combine candidate Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu, Congress candidate Balbir Singh Sidhu and Aam Aadmi Party’s Narinder Singh Shergill.

Kumbhra, who had left the AAP to join the Democratic Swaraj Party around a month ago, alleged that Shergill was an outsider so he was not aware of the problems of Mohali.

“Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu remained Mohali Deputy Commissioner for three years, but he did nothing to solve several problems of the public, which we used to take up with him at that time. Balbir Sidhu also failed in raising public issues properly in the Vidhan Sabha,” alleged Kumbhra.

Kumbhra said: “If people wanted a change, AAP is not the only option. People should test new parties and new candidates.”
