A cultural event was organised under the aegis of Anjuman Heyatula Islam at BHEL Sector-1 mosque here yesterday.

Schoolchildren from the Muslim community took part in the event. They gave the message of peace, brotherhood, love and communal harmony through cultural programmes.

Head of Anjuam Heyatul Islam Iftaar Khan Hasan gave a spiritual and moral discourse to the children prior to the start of the cultural programmes.

He stressed on moral and patriotic values as without these the country cannot progress.

Children aged between 5-15 years of age gave performances, with depiction of preachings of Prophet Mohammed and religious diversity of our country being a major attraction.

Aksha Sayyed and Falak Khan’s performances, in particular, were lauded by the audience present at the event.

Aarif, Ayehsa, Shamim Ahmed, Badruddin, Naeem, Iftar Hasan, Kurban Ali, Mumtaz, Anwar, Sahid Per Ali and Sahid Ali also attended the event.
