Sangwan Khap-40 has announced to honour the kin of those who were killed in the Jat agitation mayhem by awarding them compensation at a mahapanchayat to be organised at Kheri Bura village on May 15.

This was decided by khap representatives headed by Col Rishal Singh (retired), Bura Khap chief, during a mahapanchayat at Kheri Bura on Thursday.

“The core committee members of the khap have collected a donation of Rs 1.25 crore from residents of nearly 40 villages,” declared Rishal Singh.

Khap leaders said some rowdy elements had created law and order situation, but the police had registered fake cases only against the community youths and they were being arrested.

Narsingh Sangwan, khap leader, said the decision of felicitating the kin of the deceased youths had been taken by all communities in 40 villages.

Vowing to fight for the youths languishing in jails, the khap said they would garner support and a final call on several other key issues would be taken at a meeting in Imlota village on May 1.

Sudeep Kalkal, one of the prime accused held for arson at the house of Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu during the Jat stir, hails from Imlota village in the district.

Phogat Khap, another prominent khap from Bhiwani, too had declared to felicitate the kin of the deceased who had died during the Jat stir on May 2 at Dadri for their contribution to the community.
