Kaul opens health centre in Karsog

MANDI: Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur today inaugurated a Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Mahunag in Karsog and also laid a foundation stone of a parking lot to be constructed by the district Tourism Department at a cost of Rs 10 lakh.

Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur today inaugurated a Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Mahunag in Karsog and also laid a foundation stone of a parking lot to be constructed by the district Tourism Department at a cost of Rs 10 lakh.

Addressing a gathering here, he said with this health centre, residents of Savamahu, Sartyola, Saindhalghaini, Parlog, Meharan and Kadi Sapnote would be benefited.

“During the three-year regime, the state government has opened four PHCs in Karsog. There is one Civil Hospital, one Community Health Centre (CHC) and 33 sub-health centres,” he added.

He said Rs 64 lakh had been sanctioned to install lift in the Civil Hospital, Karsog, and Rs 65 lakh for the construction of the PHC building at Seri banglow in the area. He was accompanied by Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mansa Ram, who also represents Karsog in the district.

“To provide adequate water to residents of Mahunag, a water lift scheme was under way at the Cherra rivulet, which will be completed soon,” he said, adding that efforts were on to connect Sartyola village with the road facility in coming days.
