kargil, November 26

Kargil district for the first time celebrated Law Day at the Academy Hall in Kargil. Talking about the importance of Law Day, chief guest Kacho Hassan Khan, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, appreciated the efforts of the District Legal Authority, Kargil, for organising the programme for students.

Stressing the need to abide by the law, Khan said people should approach the legal authority rather than protest by blocking roads and national highway in support of their demands, which he said, had become a popular way of protest in the country, particularly in Kargil.

“In places like Kargil, traffic rules should be strictly followed as we have a limited town area. Despite one-way traffic, we face traffic congestion. In such situations, people park their vehicles wherever they find space,” said Khan.

He said holding programmes would educate people about the law and order, rights and their duties.

District and Sessions Judge, Kargil, Tasleem Arif was the special guest on the occasion. Amarjeet Singh Langeh, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kargil, was also present. — TNS
