Karcham-Wangtoo workers hold protest rally

Shimla, March 17

The Karcham-Wangtoo Project Workers’ Union today staged a protest at Reckong Peo. They accused HP Power Corporation Ltd (HPCL) and its contractor firm, Patel Engineering, which are executing the project, of not implementing the directive of the High Court, though workers had suspended their strike on the court’s direction on September 20 last year.

Union president Suraj Prakash Negi alleged that both HPCL and Patel Engineering company were not implementing the High Court order to settle the prolonged wages dispute.—TNS
