Jobs to BPL families if voted to power: CM

MUSSOORIE: Chief Minister Harish Rawat today announced that if his government is re-elected in the forthcoming Assembly elections it would provide employment to a member of each below poverty line (BPL) family in the state.

Chief Minister Harish Rawat today announced that if his government is re-elected in the forthcoming Assembly elections it would provide employment to a member of each below poverty line (BPL) family in the state. He stated this while addressing the public rally at the Government Inter College ground at Ekeshwar in Pauri Garhwal district.

Rawat said the process would start immediately after forming the government is formed in 2017. The government would try to provide jobs to a member of each BPL family in one or two years. He expressed concern over continuous migration from the state and said efforts would be made to curb widespread migration by introducing sustainable policies. He added the development of the state would be done in a new and unique way so that its fruits accrue to everyone. Beautiful spots would be linked with tourism and connectivity with such spots would be provided.

He said the government was providing benefits to women through Ganga, Gai, Hamari Kanya Hamara Abhiman, Mukhyamantri Satat Ajivika Yojna so that their economic condition could improve. Several pension schemes had been introduced for the people belonging to marginalised sections. He announced a women ITI centre at Ekeshwar along with 11 other development projects for the region.
