Jobless teachers to meet Badal on December 11

Unemployed ETT/TET-pass teachers have decided to continue their agitation despite the fixing of a panel meeting with Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for December 11 to discuss their demands.

“The authorities have assured to fulfil our demands,” said Amarjit Singh Kamboj, president, ETT TET Pass Teachers Union, Punjab.

He said that only two teachers, who had climbed atop a water tank near the Moga rally site and had threatened to immolate themselves, have come down after the meeting was fixed.

“Forty teachers, who have been on water tanks for the past fortnight in 15 villages of Jalalabad town, will stay there until the demand of providing government jobs to them is fulfilled,” said Amarjit Singh.

He added that their dharna in Jaisingh Wala village of Bathinda district has entered its 200th day today.

He warned that if their demands are not accepted in the December 11 panel meeting, they will gherao the ancestral residence of the CM at Badal village and some of them would end their lives there.
