Four armed men loot Rs 15,000 from petrol pump

Dehradun: Four armed men looted Rs 15,000 from a cashier of a petrol pump, situated nearly 20 km from the city, under Shashpur police station, on Wednesday. The city police cordoned off the entire area and conducted a search operation but to no avail.

Sources said the car-borne looters entered the Issar petrol pump, situated on the Langha road, on the pretext of filling petrol in their car early this morning. They threatened the pump employees with country-made pistols.

The looters demanded cash from the employees and brutally thrashed them when they refused to give the cash. The employees alleged that the looters managed to escape from the petrol pump by threatening to shoot them if they raised an alarm.

The staff called the police control room after looters sped away in their car. A police team reached the spot to gather clues and made a sketch of one of the looters.

SSP Sadanand Datte said several police teams had been formed to arrest the looters. The teams were being sent to neighbouring cities to find clues and arrest the looters, he said.—TNS
