The newly selected JBT teachers who were yet to get their joining letters have threatened a to launch an indefinite fast at Siksha Sadan in Panchkula from June 21 if they were not given postings.

In a state-level meeting held at Madhuban Park here today, they claimed that Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had promised them on March 29 to give them postings within 77 working days. But there had been no progress in the matter so far.

“If the government fails to fulfil its promise, all selected teacher would gather at Siksha Sadan and start an indefinite fast with their families until our demand is met”, said Rajender Sharma, state president of the association.

The previous Congress government has completed the recruitment of JBT teachers and released the list of selected candidates just before the assembly elections.
