ITBP rafting expedition flagged off in Dharchula

PITHORAGARH: ITBP IGP Punit Rastogi flagged off a 165-km rafting expedition from Dharchula to Tanakpur on the Kali river at Dharchula today.

ITBP IGP Punit Rastogi flagged off a 165-km rafting expedition from Dharchula to Tanakpur on the Kali river at Dharchula today.

The eastern frontier of the ITBP is organising the rafting expedition. It will reach Tanakpur on March 30.

“The expedition, being manned by 35 ITBP jawans from 36th battalion of the force, is being led by Yunus Khan. It will reach Tanakpur after crossing camps at Jauljibi, Jhoolaghat, Pancheswar, Chukka and Boom.

“The expedition will spread social messages of “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao,” Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” and grow more trees to residents. The expedition will also hold social awareness and medical camps at these villages,” said Anand Singh Yarso, Commandant of 36th battalion of the ITBP.
