New Delhi, Oct 26

The Congress today reiterated its stand on former BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu saying he is welcome to join the party unconditionally. Party spokesperson and former MP Manish Tewari also said it was for Sidhu to spell out where he was going and where he was interested in going.

“As for Congress, our position remains the same as stated previously by party in charge for Punjab Asha Kumari. Sidhu is not indicating even his covert interests in the Congress,” Tewari said, hoping for Sidhu to make the first move and approach the Congress.

Reacting to former PPCC chief Partap Bajwa's statement that Sidhu could join the party on Diwali, Tewari said: "Well only Bajwa is in a position to comment on his comments.”

Meanwhile, the Sidhu-led Awaaz-e-Punjab met again in Delhi today. The group remains divided between which side to join the AAP or the Congress and has been claiming to be in touch with both.
