Israel, U’khand plan tie-up in farm, water, education fields

Israel and Uttarakhand will be exploring to work together in the sphere of agriculture, water conservation and higher education.

Israel’s Ambassador to India Daniel Carmon met Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat at the latter’s residence here on Thursday and held detailed discussions on mutual cooperation between Uttarakhand and Israel in the field of agriculture, water conservation and higher education.

Daniel Carmon said that relations between India and Israel had become stronger in the past four years.

“Both the countries have signed important agreements in defence, agriculture and water conservation fields. Israel is also exploring the possibilities of working in cooperation with state governments, including Uttarakhand, along with the Central government”, he told the Chief Minister. 

Daniel Carmon also apprised that Israel has opened 27 Centres of Excellence in India in this connection.

Encourse of deliberations, the Chief Minister said that India and Israel were natural friends and asserted that Israel’s technology and experience could be of use in agriculture and water conservation, besides social and economic activities. 

Daniel Carmon said there were immense possibilities of cooperation in higher education and skill development in Uttarakhand.

He disclosed that Uttarakhand had participated in an exhibition linked to horticulture sector in Israel recently.
