India should work in field of 5G: Registrar

The department of computer science and engineering, GJUST, organised a national seminar on ‘Design of 5G mobile networks using soft computing techniques’ sponsored by the University Grant Commission under its Special Assistance Programme here.

Prof Sanjeev Tokekar, Director, Institute of Engineering and Technology, Devi Ahilya University, Indore, said 5G mobile networking techniques would be introduced shortly. The technology will be highly useful in the area of communication, transportation etc.

Dr Anil Kumar Pundir, Registrar, said India used latest techniques developed and invented in other countries, but time had come when it should work in the field of 5G.

He also emphasised use of new technologies for humanity.

Prof Yogesh Chaba, coordinator of the project, said 4G mobile networking technologies would be replaced by 5G in coming years. China, America, Germany and many other countries were planning to establish 5G mobile networks by 2020, he added.
