This is Chandan Deshmukh’s second self-help book. His first literary work, Six Secrets Smart Students Don't Tell You, was well received by students and teachers alike. The author takes up different problems that students face, explains them logically, and also suggests ways to overcome them.

A story that flows through the book is about Tarun, a student, and his teacher Mrs Ahalya and how she helps him achieve a high score in his exams. The book is replete with several such examples of people and real-life situations.

The author mentions five things that students are often told, and debunks these. “1. You can neither achieve anything nor be happy. 2. You don’t have studies in your genes. 3. Your parents pay and you go. Pure business. 4. All subjects are same. Just learn them by-heart. 5. You are a student. Just do nothing but study.” Students are given these instructions by teachers, parents, peers. He cites several studies to prove why these are all lies.

He writes that many from generation Y are suffering from the problem of, ‘You are special’. They think that if they put in hard work, they are destined for success.

The book promises infotainment, it is fun to read and provides crucial information which will help students to cope up with many lies they have been told.
