Jhajjar, October 18

Jhajjar, which was on priority during the previous Congress government, has been struggling under the BJP regime for two years.

Several projects have been announced for the district, but majority of them are yet to take off.

The government is not paying heed to poor drainage and public transportation, potholed streets, and overhead high-voltage wires.

Only silver lining is the adequate supply of water. “Nothing has changed during the BJP regime except for availability of water. Ever since the BJP took over, residents are receiving ample supply. It was a distant dream in the previous government. As for the rest of the problems, there is no improvement,” said Vineet Kumar, a city resident.

CM Window is proving useful to some extent in drawing the attention of officers towards grievances.

But it is offset by the rise in crime rate. The police have reportedly failed to curb snatching, loot, robbery and burglary.

Equally problematic is the state of healthcare services. General medicines remain out of stock in government hospitals, while patients requiring emergency treatment have to go to other places.

Non-availability of Roadways buses on several routes, especially during night, is another problem. The bus stand has been shifted outside the city; poor bus service is forcing commuters to hire auto-rickshaws.
