Illegal mining: Ambala DC pulls up officials

AMBALA: Deputy Commissioner Prabhjot Singh today pulled up district officials for their failure to stop illegal mining and plying of overloaded vehicles in Ambala.

Deputy Commissioner Prabhjot Singh today pulled up district officials for their failure to stop illegal mining and plying of overloaded vehicles in Ambala.

Prabhjot at a meeting at his office here today asked the officials concerned to take adequate steps to stop illegal mining or be ready to face action if anyone of them was found hobnobbing with illegal miners.

He said, “Stopping illegal mining and plying of overloaded vehicles is not the duty of one department but is the responsibility of all officials”.

He directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Naraiangarh and Ambala City to inspect vehicles and issue challans to overloaded vehicles. He directed Regional Transport Authority officials to produce a daily report of challans issued to overloaded vehicles.

Prabhjot directed the mining officer to get FIRs registered against people involved in illegal mining.
