Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to launch “jan jagran abhiyan” from Sirsa on June 12 against various acts of omission and commission of the BJP government.
Announcing this here, Hooda said they would highlight the failures of the BJP government in the last one-and-a-half year and non-fulfillment of election promises and the first phase of the abhiyan would be organised in Mahendragarh, Ambala, Palwal and Mewat.
Reiterating his demand for making the Prakash Singh panel report public, Hooda alleged while officials were being made the scapegoat, no politician was taking responsibility for the large-scale violence during the Jat stir.
“The CM cannot escape responsibility for the violence during the Jat agitation as the CID, the police and the general administration are directly under his control,” he said.
Referring to registration of the CBI and vigilance cases against him, Hooda alleged that it would solely being done out of political vendetta to divert people’s attention from the non-fulfillment of about 154 pre-poll promises made by the BJP ahead of the 2014 Assembly elections.
Regarding allegations of the INLD that land was released to certain builders during his tenure, Hooda claimed that not ‘even an inch of land’ was released to the builders during his tenure.
Modi government a failure, says Congress leader Rajeev Shukla
Chandigarh: Congress leader Rajeev Shukla today dubbed the two years of the Narendra Modi government as “disastrous”, saying despite its slogan of zero tolerance towards corruption “scams” have hit many BJP-ruled states.
“The Modi Government has failed on all fronts. Its performance has been disastrous. Half of its tenure is up and it has nothing to show,” Shukla told mediapersons here.
He questioned what was there to celebrate for the government when it had “failed” to fulfill promises like bringing back black money, generating employment and improving the economy. “At current crude prices, the price of petrol should have been Rs 31.99 per litre and diesel at Rs 25.40 per litre. This proves that the government is filling its coffers and benefits are not being passed on to the consumers. “ he said. Shukla said the BJP government had promised to give employment to 2 crore people, but only 1.34 lakh youths got jobs in the last two years. Targeting the BJP on corruption, Shukla said, “They boast about zero tolerance towards corruption. The truth is there have been scams in many BJP-ruled states like Vyapam in MP and PDS scam in Chhattisgarh.” TNS
