Television actress Hunar Hali was in the city to promote her current show ‘Dahleez’, which is aired on Star Plus.

She plays the character of Jaya Jaidev in the show.

“There is no melodrama and through my character, I am just reinforcing the fact that the institution of marriage requires time to find depth,” she said.

The 26-year-old actress said, “The show is yet another Hindi serial that brings the usual issues of marriage, love, family and divorce. And like all dutiful Indian wives, I am also trying to save my marriage. Indian tradition is about patience, tolerance, forgiveness, love and putting in a lot of effort in a marriage. It requires a lot of willpower for a successful marriage, but lately the number of divorces has increased. I, through this show, want women to learn how to sustain even in a loveless marriage and not to take the easy way out i.e. divorce.”

Talking about Punjabi films, Hunar said, “This is precisely what I want now. I wanted to establish my base in the TV industry and then move on to Punjabi films. And now, I think I am ready for it. I have done some good stuff till now and Punjabi films are next on the list.”

Keeping in mind the scale of the show, the makers have shot it entirely at real locations in Delhi such as Jama Masjid, Khan Market, Sainik Farms in Chhatarpur, the iconic India Gate and other interesting locations. The show has a stellar cast, including Meghna Malik, Amit Behl, Harshad Arora, Tridha Choudhury, Meer Ali and Aryan Pandit.
