Shimla, July 6

Himachal Pradesh Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur on Monday sought registration of a case in the audio CD released targeting him and alleged that it was a political conspiracy to malign his image.

Addressing a press conference here, the Health Minister named IPS officer AP Singh, posted as Resident Commissioner in Delhi, as the brain behind the audio clips leak.

He said he had no plans to resign or take on the Chief Minister. He said he had not heard the clips and had only learnt about it through the media.

On Saturday, an audio CD allegedly targeting the minister was sent to different media groups through posts.

It contained 19 different conversations of the minister revolving elections, political developments and a private conversation with a woman.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said there was no need for a fresh inquiry into the CD leak  targeting the health minister as the phone-tapping case having these very contents was pending in the court.

He said: “Thakur is my esteemed colleague and anything, which is against him, will reflect against the government.”
