Smoking, lack of physical activity, food preferences and environmental factors like dust storm and pollution are making human lungs weak, said medical experts during an event organised by Dr BC Sarin, HoD, SGRD Hospital, and Dr Naveen Pandhi, HoD, the Chest and TB Department, Government Medical College.

Stressing upon the importance of going for a lung check-up, Dr Sarin said, “We should remember that asthma is a long-term disease that has no cure, but can be controlled through inhalers. ”

Dr Naveen Pandhi said it was important to understand the need to know one’s lung number and why inhalation therapy was teffective way to control asthma and breathlessness. — TNS
