Patiala, January 7

Arun Kumar Bajaj always dreamed of being a painter. But following the sudden death of his father Ashwani Bajaj 15 years ago, he was forced into the tailoring business. Arun, however, was resolute not to let destiny take its course. He didn’t let the artist in him die and began experimenting with the needle and the thread. Over time, his efforts began to bear fruit and his unique embroideries that resemble paintings became famous in India and abroad.

Arun made it to the India Book of Records for his unique Lord Krishna embroidery on February 4, 2015. The ‘Needle Man’ as he is popularly known is now trying to get into the Guinness Book of World Records. Born on June 2, 1983, Arun was always passionate about painting.

Some of his popular works are portraits of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Jesus Christ, Guru Gobind Singh, Lord Krishna, Mother Teresa, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. His shop is called Bajaj Arts.
