Haren, Aadish win cycling gold

CHANDIGARH: Haren Chaudhary clinched the gold medal in the 500m race for U-14 boys on the concluding day of Chandigarh State Track Cycling Championship at Panjab University here today.

Haren Chaudhary clinched the gold medal in the 500m race for U-14 boys on the concluding day of Chandigarh State Track Cycling Championship at Panjab University here today. He clocked 55.85 second, while Jai Dogra finished the race in 1.0.46s and Lakshay Jain in 1.01.07s to take the second and third positions, respectively. In the 1000m event for U-19 bpys, Aadish Manrai (1.25.96s), Abhishek Malik (1.31.95s) and Manan Kundal (1.31.54s) claimed the top three positions. In the boys’ U-19 2000m race, Manrai clocked 4.12.5s to finish first. In the elite 1000m event for men, Ravi Sharma claimed the gold medal in 1.30.96s while Saket Malhotra (1.31.32s) and Ashish Kadian (1.37.56s) claimed the second and third spot, respectively.  In the men’s scratch 3000m race, Saket Malhotra proved his mettle and won the gold medal in 5.01.42s. In the women’s scratch 3000m race, Urvashi Khurana took gold (2.03.21s), Aditi Mohindra silver (2.10.99s) and Divleen Kaur bronze (2.11.61s). Aditi won another gold in the 300m race, clocking 5.41.45s. In the girls’ sub-junior scratch race, Rupali claimed the pole position with a timing of 4.15.23s. In  the 1000m race for U-14 girls, Nanki claimed the gold in 2.25.57s. In the 500m event, Bhavneet (1.00.70s), Nanki (1.04.50s) and Manika (1.11.67s) claimed top three positions —TNS
