Dehradun, November 17

Uttarakhand Governor Dr KK Paul today said that a sustained effort should be made for making good literature readily available to the young readers. “Books written in an attractive make can keep the young minds occupied for hours. We have to ensure these are available at affordable prices,” said Paul at the inaugural session of the three-day Art and Literature festival “Valley of Words” that took off here today.

Paul also emphasised on the need to translate literature written by Hindi writer Munshi Premchand. “Unfortunately, he remained hidden from the rest of the world as very few, if at all, books were translated into English,” said Paul and did not fail to mention that he could have easily won a Noble Prize, if he had managed to reach the readers of other countries, particularly the English readers.
