Autopsies were being conducted at the civil hospital on the bodies of the three terrorists who were gunned down by the Punjab police in a 12-hour operation after they stormed a police station in Gurdaspur on July 27.

Gurdaspur Deputy Commissioner Abhinav Trikha said three panels of three doctors each were conducting the autopsies while police manned the hospital and areas surrounding it.

Three terrorists had attacked passengers in a moving bus and stormed a police station, killing seven persons, including an SP. They were finally shot dead by Punjab Police and elite commandos of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT).

Security forces also seized sophisticated weapons, including China-made grenades and Global Positioning Systems (GPS).

In a statement made in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh claimed: "Preliminary analyses of GPS data indicates that the terrorists had infiltrated from Pakistan through the area near Tash in Gurdaspur district, where the Ravi river enters Pakistan." — PTI
