Gujarat, Hry, Delhi, MP enter semis

Patiala: On the third day of the 16th All India BSNL Twenty-20 cricket tournament, UP (East) faced Haryana and Gujarat played against Odisha, Assam faced UP (West) and Madhya Pradesh (MP) played against Punjab at various venues here.

On the third day of the 16th All India BSNL Twenty-20 cricket tournament, UP (East) faced Haryana and Gujarat played against Odisha, Assam faced UP (West) and Madhya Pradesh (MP) played against Punjab at various venues here. Gujarat, Haryana, Delhi and MP today made it to the semifinals of the tournament.

In the first league match, Odisha won the toss and decided to bat first. Odisha made 92 runs in 19.4 overs. Sanjay made 24 runs in 18 balls while Viral and Bhupendra took 3 wickets each. In reply, Gujarat made 96 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 16.5 overs. Kamlesh played well and remained unbeaten at 44. 

Gujarat won the match by 9 wickets.

In the second league match, UP (East) lost the toss and were asked to bowl first. Haryana made 160 for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Ankur played well and scored 50 runs while Kuldeep Diwan made 34 runs in 18 balls with 4 sixes and a four. Siraj and Srivastava claimed 2 wickets each. In reply, UP (East) made 149 in 20 overs with Sunil scoring 63 in 50 balls. Haryana won the match by 11 runs.

Another league match was played between Madhya Pradesh (MP) and Punjab. MP won the toss and opted to bowl. Punjab scored 132 in 20 overs with skipper Ankur Kakar scoring 44 runs. In reply, MP made 135 runs for 1 wicket in 17.1 overs.  Mohnish Mishra made 59 runs and Brijesh made 51 runs. MP team won the match by 9 wickets.

In 4th match between Assam and UP (West) at Cricket Hub, Assam won the toss and elected to bat first and made 119 runs for 5 wickets. Palas Jyoti made 54 runs.

In reply, UP (West) made 120 runs in 18.5 overs with Vineesh scoring 28 runs while Roy claimed 2 wickets for 22 runs. 

UP (West) won the match by 7 wickets.
