Dehradun, May 23

Members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) led by their Dehradun president Vipin Rana today burnt the effigy of Congress government at Lansdowne Chowk, accusing the state government of promoting quarrying mafia in the state.

Expressing solidarity with ongoing agitation by Swami Shivanand against quarrying mafia in Haridwar, Rana said Shivanand had waged a struggle against quarrying mafia and had gone on a hunger strike but the insensitive state government was least concerned.
