An awareness session-cum-seminar was organised at the school on ‘human trafficking and cyber crime’. Manpreet Singh, nodal officer, cyber and human trafficking expert; SHO of women police station inspector Gurjeet Kaur and inspector Reena Yadav, incharge, human trafficking, Chandigarh Police, graced the occasion. Manpreet Singh talked in detail about cyber crimes. He also answered queries of students. Gurjeet Kaur talked in depth about the role of parents, children and teachers in bringing about a change in societal perception regarding female feticide, girl child education and dowry system. She also enumerated laws for helping women against domestic violence and need for women empowerment. A vote of thanks was given by principal Indra Beniwal.

Govt Model High School (Khudda Jassu, Chandigarh)

Two students of the school got selected for National Population Education Project Model Making Competition. Shubham Verma of Class IX and Aishwariya of Class X participated in the competition on the theme ‘Life is precious, Nurture it’. The model showing lifestyle and process of life along with photos and ‘Kaal Chakrra’ was highly applauded. Guide teacher Manoj Kumar told that the event was held at SCERT, Sector 32, Chandigarh. The students will now participate in State Science Exhibition. Headmistress Harjit Kaur congratulated the students and Manoj Kumar.

Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School  (Sect 40-C, Chandigarh)

Akrita Singh of Class X got selected in sixth state-level exhibition and project competition held by the State Council of Education Research and Training, UT, Chandigarh, under the INSPIRE award scheme by the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The topic ‘Smart Pollution Management’ exhibited various innovative methods to reduce pollution level in the country. Principal Pritinder Kaur applauded the efforts of the science teachers.
