Governor, First Lady attend Air Warrior Symphony Orchestra

SRINAGAR: Governor NN Vohra and First Lady Usha Vohra attended the Air Warrior Symphony Orchestra concert and witnessed the Air Warrior Drill Team at a programme organised by the Indian Air Force at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) here today.

Governor NN Vohra and First Lady Usha Vohra attended the Air Warrior Symphony Orchestra concert and witnessed the Air Warrior Drill Team at a programme organised by the Indian Air Force at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) here today.

The Air Warrior Symphony Orchestra (AWSO) has performed many concerts in India and abroad, but it was its first performance in Kashmir.

About 60 musicians rolled out mesmerising performances comprising Indian, western and Bollywood numbers with the help of brass, woodwind, reed, string, electronic and percussion instruments.

Squadron Leader G Jayachandran was the principal conductor of the AWSO.

Later, on the SKICC lawns, a performance of advanced drill movements with rifles fixed with live bayonets was presented by the AWDT.

The Governor and the First Lady appreciated the talent of the Air Warriors in displaying music and performing the drill.

The Governor on the occasion interacted with the senior officers of the Indian Air Force and Air Warrior Drill Team and presented mementos to the AWSO and the AWDT.

Air Commodore Manoj Marathe, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Srinagar, on the occasion, presented a brief of activities of the Air Force.

Lt Gen Subrata Saha, General Officer Commanding of the 15 Corps, Air Vice-Marshal Upkarjit Singh, Air Officer Commanding, J&K, Air Force officers and families of Air Force personnel were present during the performances.
