Global Gayatri Family actively involved in relief

Global Gayatri Family, Shantikunj, based in Uttarakhand, has been involved actively in relief aid work in disaster-affected areas of Nepal.

Dozens of Shantikunj volunteers led by a specialised disaster management team have been providing rescue and relief aid, which has been lauded by Nepal government too.

Currently, Global Gayatri Family Shantikunj spiritual ideologue Dr Pranav Pandya, its flagship educational wing Dev Sanskriti University Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Chinmay Pandya and coordinator Gauri Shankar Sharma are monitoring the relief aid work in Nepal.

Today, Dr Pranav Pandya held a meeting with Nepal government Chief Secretary Leela Mani Paudiyal, assuring him further assistance and involvement in rehabilitation process.

Dr Pandya also assured adoption of villages and schools, which have been deeply affected by the earthquake, which rocked Nepal and Northern India on April 25.

As per coordinator Gauri Shankar, at Nepal Prahari Institution, Maharaj Ganj, the main disaster relief aid base camp has been made by Shantikunj, from where all relief aid activities are being coordinated.

A meeting with Jaya M Khanal, Secretary, Industries, and Rajendra Singh Bhandari, ADG, Nepal police, was also convened by the Shantikunj delegation, wherein there was a discussion on rehabilitation and reconstruction.

Relief aid was also distributed at Vanasthali area by Shantikunj volunteers and also at severely affected Sindupaar Chowk, 65 km from Kathmandu.

A team of doctors and medical staff involved with Shantikunj is also providing medical care to patients at the base camp.
