Girl re-unites with kin after 10 years

KARNAL: The month-long efforts of a sub-inspector bore fruit as a girl, who went missing on February 5, 2005, from a colony in Kumda village at Mohali (Punjab) when she was eight years old, was reunited with her family today.

The month-long efforts of a sub-inspector bore fruit as a girl, who went missing on February 5, 2005, from a colony in Kumda village at Mohali (Punjab) when she was eight years old, was reunited with her family today.

SI Rajbir Singh, posted at the City Police Station, had to run from pillar to post to search for Saraswati’s parents. Saraswati came to police notice under Operation Muskan when Rajbir visited Shradhanand orphanage in the city to check the record of missing children.

Saraswati she said she would study hard and aimed to become an IPS officer so that she could help the needy like she was helped in her hour of need.
