The Jammu and Kashmir Punjabi Sahit Sabha (JKPSS) has celebrated its 47th annual day in which speakers alleged discrimination against Punjabi language.

A statement issued by the literary body today said the 47th annual day was celebrated here recently where JKPSS president Kirat Singh Inqalabi highlighted the problems being faced by them.

“Punjabi is not getting its due place in the state. The state government should implement Punjabi from the primary level to the postgraduate level with fresh requirements of Punjabi teachers,” he said.

He also appealed to the Central government to accommodate Punjabi programmes on All-India Radio and Doordarshan.
