Gandhis attached to Shimla land

For the Gandhi clan, building a house in Chhabara is a way of fulfilling the dreams of Rajiv and Sonia who had wanted an abode here. 

Insiders say that Priyanka has been working overtime over the years to turn this dream of her parents into reality. As new weds the couple had sat on the lush green grass at this spot when they had visited Shimla. They had then decided that will build a house here.

It is said that Sonia loved the place because it reminded her of the area in which lived in Italy.

State Congress chief Sukhwinder Singh Suklhu's wife had helped Priyanka in buying the land. His wife Kamlesh says that like Sonia, Priyanka too is very emotionally attached to this particular place. Whenever Sonia visits this place she likes to go on long walks in the area.

That is the reason why Priyanka has no stone unturned in buying the land over the years. Her doggedness finally paid off and the house is under construction.
