Funds okayed for temple uplift

A sum of Rs 24.35 crore will be spent on improving facilities for pilgrims at the Baba Balak Nath temple at Deotsidh. A decision was taken at a meeting held on the premises of the Baba Balak Nath Temple Trust (BBNT) here today.

It was learnt that funds would be spent on civic amenities, rain shelters, improvement of roads and footpaths, installation of water purifiers. The trust would also beautify and arrange for civic facilities on the way leading to the temple from Salauni and Mehre villages. The trust would construct toilets and provide drinking water facilities on this stretch of the road. It was proposed that civic amenities would be developed at Garli and Bijhri villages.

Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, said the construction of parking lots at Deotsidh and near the temple complex would be given priority.

He said the trust authorities had been advised to maintain transparency in the use of trust funds. The information regarding facilities and programmes of the trust must be updated regularly.
