Seems like newcomer Monica Sehgal is on cloud nine as her debut show, Manmarziyan, has received a good response. As we catch up with a pretty actor, she talks about how her own disposition is similar to the character she plays in the show and her experience on show.

How did you become an actress?

Well, I always wanted to be a TV show host, so even after my post graduation, I hosted a few corporate shows. However, later, I got a call from Swastik Productions regarding a hosting assignment as I came up with a concept called Hash Tag Jugghad, which I host on a YouTube channel for them. They liked my webisodes and asked me to audition for the role of Radhika Mishra and that is how I bagged the lead in Manmarziyan!

Can you tell us more about the Juggad videos?

Sure. Jugghad is a Do-It-Yourself channel, wherein I teach others how to make some things. The whole point behind this concept is to make use of things that we usually discard or are not able to reuse.

Tell us something about your character, Radhika.

Radhika is small-town girl, who wishes to create her own identity. While she is still confused about what she wants to do in life, her parents want her to get married. Even though Radhika has no issues about getting married, she wants time for herself so that she can explore life before she is married.

Do you identify with your character, Radhika?

Radhika is ambitious and is someone, who believes in creating her own identity. I am the same, as I too want to create my own identity. I want to achieve much in my life so that my parents are proud of me. Radhika too wants that and that is how I can identify with her.

Who, on the sets of Manmarziyan, do you get along with?

I am close to my entire team, right from the director, assistant director to my co-actors. I cannot take one name because all of them are good friends and we spend lots of time together. We are like a family.
