Four killed in mishap due to fog

KARNAL: Four persons were killed and one injured in an accident due to dense fog. The deceased include three members of a family from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, an their maid. They were killed when their car rammed into a truck near Nilokehri on the GT Road today.

Four persons were killed and one injured in an accident due to dense fog.

The deceased include three members of a family from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, an their maid. They were killed when their car rammed into a truck near Nilokehri on the GT Road today.

The deceased have been identified as Harinder Singh (28), his uncle Prabhujot Singh (50), his grandmother Gurpal Kaur and the maid Aditi (23). The injured was identified as Lakhwinder Kaur, maternal aunt of Harinder Singh, who is admitted to a hospital.

The Butana police sent the bodies to Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College Hospital (KCGMCH).

Brish Bhan, ASI, said the family members were going to Amritsar for Harinder’s engagement.

Due to low visibility, many vehicles hit the car from behind.

One dead, 8 hurt in mishap

Kaithal: One person was killed and eight others were injured when a Haryana Roadways bus collided with an auto-rickshaw near Kailram village in the district this morning.

The mishap took place due to poor visibility caused by dense fog. After the mishap, the auto-rickshaw overturned and all its occupants, including the driver, suffered injuries and were rushed to the Civil Hospital here. Sukhbir Rana (52) of Baata village succumbed to his injuries, while critically injured Naubat Singh was later shifted to the PGI, Chandigarh.

According to information, Sukhbir’s son was to be married on February 12. He along with some relatives was coming to Kaithal to purchase some items for the marriage.

Rohtak: A truck driver was killed and eight others injured in a collision between seven vehicles today. The accident took place near the Makdauli toll plaza near the Gohana road here. The mishap occured due to dense fog. Injuredre admitted to the PGIMS.
