Chandigarh, January 23

Two youth, including the son of a retired Colonel, who were booked on the charge of making lewd comments on girls, were let off on one-year probation here today by Civil Judge Rekha Chaudhary.

They were released today by the judge after they apologised and vowed not to do so again in future.

According to the specifics of the case, Karan (31), the son of retired Colonel CGS Dhillon and a resident of Sector 36, and Jasmilan (29), a resident of Sector 41, were booked under Sections 294 (obscene acts or words in public) and 34  of the IPC at the Sector 36 police station.

In the FIR, the police stated that on September 3, 2015, a police vehicle was on a routine patrolling duty, when they got the information that two young men were driving around in a Duster car (CHO1AT-3994) and teasing girls. A police team reached near the Fragrance Garden in Sector 36 where they saw the girls being teased.

“Beauties, the weather is pleasant today, so become our friends and we will have fun,” was the comment they made at the girls while driving their vehicle, stated the FIR. Seeing this, sub-inspector Saravjeet Singh stopped the vehicle and asked them to come out. They were arrested and booked on the complaint of one of the girls, a resident of Meerut.
