A “high-profile” burglar has been caught by the anti-snatching, robbery and dacoity detection cell of the crime branch of the UT police. The police said Pawan Hooda, a resident of Phase XI, Mohali, was involved in five burglary cases and used to live a luxurious life with the stolen money. He was a regular visitor to night clubs in Mohali and had a lavish lifestyle.

Inspector Amanjot Singh said on April 15, they got information that Hooda, who recently vandalised an ATM at Phase XI, Mohali, and broke the locks of Uttam Sweets and Bansal Jewellers in Sector 46 and Indian Jewellers, was preparing for a burglary in Sector 45.

On the basis of the information, Hooda was arrested from the road separating Sectors 45 and 46 along with a Sakoda Rapid car (CH 01 AW 7056).
