Member of Parliament Ashwini Chopra today appealed to the youth to follow footsteps of great astronaut Kalpana Chawla as she brought laurels to the state as well as the country.
The MP was speaking at a programme named “Sewa mai ek kadam” held on the death anniversary of Kalpana Chawla organised by Lions Club, Karnal Greater, at Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College Hospital here.
Showing his concern over the decreasing gender ratio, Chopra said people hesitate to give birth to a girl child, but girls like Kalpana had inspired our society that girls were no less than boys.
Banarsi Lal Chawla, father of Kalpana Chawla, recalled his memories related to Kalpana Chawla and said she always did her work with full dedication. She would be remembered for her work as she considered whole world her home, he said, adding that if youth follows her footsteps, India would be a beautiful country.
