Two cheat days don’t matter if the rest five days are a disciplined lot.

Dipika Kakkar believes in the balance yet does not agree with denying oneself. Better known as the lead for Sasural Simar Ka, the television actress spills the beans on her sweet cravings and fitness routine.

Five days a week mantra

My fitness mantra consists eating wholesome foods and working out consistently! This routine always works well for me. I also make it a point to drink a lot of water during the day as my skin is very sensitive, so good water intake helps keep it clean and fresh. I do have two cheat days in the week which are Saturday and Sunday, where I eat anything and everything I like, but then on the other days it’s only healthy food for me.

Gym diaries

So off late, I have become a complete gym person! And all due to Shoaib’s motivation! He was the one who got me to start working out at a gym. I love working on functional training which consists of a lot of floor exercises and a good mix of some cardio and weight training as well.

First thing...

The first thing I have in the morning is a glass of warm water with some lime and honey in it.

Dinner, by seven please

So my breakfast consists of either one large parantha, a single egg omelette or a bowl of oats. My mid meal before lunch is usually a seasonal fruit.

Lunch is the usual dal, sabzi, roti and if I feel like eating some boiled or grilled chicken with rice. Post lunch is when I always crave sweet so that’s when I love gorging on a few pieces of peanut chikki. My snacking in the evening is usually a handful of chana and a milk and sugar tea with some Marie biscuits. I make it a point to eat my dinner at 7:00pm everyday, which consists of omelette bread or some roti and green sabzi.

Sleeping beauty or not?

I do sleep through the night, but even if I sleep really late I somehow always wake up early morning to get a fresh start to my day and of course reach my shoot on time! Though on holidays, I usually sleep in and wake up late around 10:30 or 11:00 am.

Sweet tooth? Yes!

Oh yes I have a huge sweet tooth! Gulab jamun, rabdi and Dutch Trifle are my all time favourite desserts! And my dad’s home- made gajar ka halwa too!

No shortcuts, ever

Shortcuts will not get you anywhere in life, so in regard with keeping fit please don’t go for any kind of pills or insertions in your body! Instead follow natural ways of keeping healthy like avoiding fried and fatty foods and sleeping on time, exercising consistently, eating healthy foods like fresh fruits and vegetables and just motivating yourself overall to keep yourself in good shape! The main aspect is to be absolutely motivated in making sure to keep yourself fit!
