Dehradun, December 3

Relatives of senior traffic inspector (accounts) Sunil Kumar Balooni, who committed suicide by jumping before a train yesterday morning, created a ruckus in front of the Railway Police Force (RPF) chowki at the railway station here today demanding a CBI probe into the incident.

The protesters alleged that Balooni was implicated in a fake bribery case as he had tried to tighten the noose on tax evaders. Balooni's relatives, and neighbours kept the body at the railway station and shouted slogans against the railway authorities.

They said the vigilance cell of the Railways had purposely implicated Balooni in the bribery case as he had been trying to take action against tax evaders.

Northern Railways Men Union (NRMU) secretary U Singh demanded a CBI probe into the matter. It has been revealed during preliminary investigation that Balooni was mentally disturbed and after the case was registered against him he committed suicide by jumping in front of a train yesterday.
