Gram Gaurav Patts (village pride boards) will be put up in all villages in the state to focus on the achievements of the place so that people think twice before migrating to the cities. The boards would be prepared on the lines of Gram Vikas Patt (village development board).

OP Dhankar, Agriculture, Panchayat and Development Minister, said that the decision was also aimed at motivating the youth to do something for the betterment of their village.

“Vital information about martyrs, Victoria Cross winners, philanthropists and others who performed well in other fields too will be mentioned on such boards so that the youngsters can emulate them,” he said.

Later talking to mediapersons, he said there was no shortage of urea since three-four lakh bags were being sent to Haryana every day. “Today, we have received seven rakes comprising 21,000 MT per rake. I had called on Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Anant Kumar and he approved 1 MT of extra urea for us. Half of this stock has already been provided to the farmers while the rest has been kept in reserve,” he added.

“A special scheme ensuring direct contribution of youths in rural development will be launched from January 12 across the state. Two-three youths from every village will be associated with this that will be kicked off from Hasanpur village in Jhajjar,” he added.
