Rohtak, February 22

The condition of Ram Singh, who has been observing a fast at the Jat Jagriti Sena (JJS) dharna here since February 14, deteriorated today. He, however, declined to accept any medical aid or consume anything despite being persuaded by doctors and administrative officials.

Sena spokesman Jaidev said Ram Singh had even stopped drinking water since February 20. Efforts were being made to shift Ram Singh to local PGIMS at the time of filing this report.

On the other hand, a group of college students demonstrated at the Mini-Secretariat against the removal of the “Jat Shaheed Chowk” boards installed by the JJS at Rajiv Chowk on the Delhi bypass here.

They also submitted a memorandum to the City Magistrate, demanding the reinstallation of the boards and threatened to launch a stir if it was not done.

Meanwhile, the ‘Jat Nyay Dharna’ continued at Jassia village in the district today. — TNS
