The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge has dismissed the revision petition of Tanvi Garg, an IAS officer who was earlier posted in the city, challenging the summons issued to her by the court of a Judicial Magistrate in a cheque-bounce case.

Now, the trial in the case will take place in the court of the Judicial Magistrate.

Tanvi, who is presently posted in Andaman and Nicobar, held in her plea that summons were issued to her wrongly.

The complainant, Rajat Gupta, had filed a case against Tanvi alleging that she had taken Rs 30 lakh from him and returned the money through a cheque, which was dishonoured.

Meanwhile, the opposite party also filed a case of cheque theft against Gupta.

In the case filed on Gupta’s complainant, the Judicial Magistrate had summoned Tanvi Garg. But, rather than appearing before the court, she challenged the summons by filing a revision petition.
